Hire Aerial Work Platforms in Graz – Safe Access for Trades & Industry

Hire Aerial Work Platforms in Graz – Safe Access for Trades & Industry

Graz presents structurally different challenges for aerial work platform deployments: in the listed historic old town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, axle-load limits on sensitive paving and narrow street profiles determine equipment choice. In the industrial and logistics areas around Graz – from Kalsdorf to Graz-West – the deciding factors are warehouse doors with minimum clearance heights, limited floor load capacity on upper storeys, and the requirement for emission-free drives during ongoing operations.

Luibl hires out aerial work platforms of every category with direct delivery to Graz and Styria – scissor lifts from 8 metres, articulated boom lifts up to 43 metres and pure telescopic boom lifts up to 57 metres working height. Every machine is handed over with a documented handover record and the manufacturer's outreach diagram.

Our Rental Fleet for Graz: The Right Lift for Every Height Project

Choosing the right platform doesn't depend on working height alone. Ground pressure, passage width, drive type and outreach around obstructing edges are equally important parameters. The Luibl rental fleet covers the full spectrum – from ultra-compact electric scissor lifts for indoor warehouse use to large machines with a jib arm for façade work in areas requiring extended outreach.

Scissor Lifts for Maximum Platform Payload Indoors and Outdoors

Scissor lifts are the first choice when platform capacity is the priority: large working area, high load capacity, vertical lift kinematics. The Luibl rental fleet includes electric, diesel and high-bay scissor lifts with working heights from 8 to over 32 metres.

Electric scissor lifts for indoor use:

  • Genie GS 2632 (10 m working height): fits through standard doorways, non-marking tyres protect industrial floors and storage areas from scuff marks. The integrated diagnostic system enables quick on-site fault identification. Load capacity 227 kg. Typical use in Graz: installing light fittings or sprinkler systems in production halls between existing high-bay racking, where conventional scaffolding wouldn't be economical.

  • Genie GS 3369BE (12 m working height, bi-energy): combines electric operation for emission-free indoor use with the option of an external power connection – useful for long-term installations in Graz without refuelling logistics. Non-marking tyres. Suitable for warehouses where operating alongside other machinery requires zero emissions.

Diesel scissor lifts for outdoor and rough-terrain use:

  • Genie GS 4390RT (14 m working height): load capacity 680 kg – enough for two technicians with heavy tools and materials on the platform. All-wheel drive and oscillating axle system for automatic terrain adaptation; gradeability 40%. Used on building sites in Styria where the ground alternates between compacted gravel and damp clay.

High-bay scissor lifts (HAB specialist equipment):

  • HAB S320-12E (32.43 m working height): 1.20 m overall width – fits through standard sectional doors and manoeuvres in the aisle widths of modern logistics centres. Electric drive, Li-ion technology. Case in point: in a high-bay warehouse in the Graz region, conveyor equipment needed maintenance at over 30 metres height while operations continued on the lower levels – without scaffolding, without shutting down the warehouse.

  • HAB S280-12 (28 m working height): 1.25 m overall width, permanent all-wheel drive with oscillating axle, manoeuvrable even in confined aisles at full working height.

Load capacity across the Luibl scissor lift range spans from 227 kg for compact electric models to over 1,000 kg for heavy-duty diesel variants. On request, Luibl provides the manufacturer's diagram for each machine showing ground-pressure point loads for different ground classes.

Articulated Boom Lifts to Overcome Difficult Obstructions

In Graz's old town and at industrial sites requiring extended outreach, articulated boom lifts are technically superior to pure scissor lifts. The moveable boom arm allows you to reach around roof overhangs, ledges, railings and pipework – without repositioning the machine.

Compact electric articulated boom lifts:

  • Niftylift HR12L (12 m working height): unladen weight 2,540 kg – transportable on a trailer, reducing logistics costs for short jobs in Graz. Bi-energy drive, non-marking tyres, oscillating axle system for uneven ground. Relevant for façade work in Graz's old town: low axle load combined with precise basket positioning against historic cornices.

  • Niftylift HR21E (21 m working height): turning radius 3.89 m, gradeability 25%, basket rotation range 150°. Suitable for installation work on industrial façades with limited set-up areas.

Large machines with jib arm for maximum outreach:

  • Genie ZX-135/70 (43 m working height): combines an articulating boom, riser and telescoping jib arm (extending from 3.66 to 6.10 m) with a continuously rotating turntable (360°, no end stop). Outreach 21.26 m. Heritage/façade case: during renovation work on historic buildings in Graz's old town, cornices and stucco elements hidden behind roof overhangs can be reached – without closing roads, without scaffolding time. Important: the machine weighs over 20 tonnes; the maximum permitted axle load on the old town paving must be clarified with the Graz special-use authority before deployment.

Electric articulated boom lifts in the Luibl range reach working heights of up to 28 metres with outreach up to 20 metres; diesel variants go up to 48 metres and 24 metres outreach, with negative working height down to –6 metres for under-bridge inspections or sloped sites in Styria.

Telescopic Boom Lifts for Maximum Reach and Rough Terrain

Where no articulating arm is needed and working height is the priority, pure telescopic boom lifts are the more economical choice. Luibl hires out diesel telescopic boom lifts with working heights from 18 to 57 metres and outreach from 12 to 28 metres – including the Genie SX 180 as the flagship model with 57 m working height. Even the smallest models (Genie S45, S65) already cover 11 metres of outreach. All-wheel drive is standard on every rough-terrain model; the machines are built for use on outdoor sites, infrastructure projects and open industrial premises across Styria.

Truck-Mounted and Trailer-Mounted Platforms for Fast Site Changes

For businesses with frequently changing sites in Graz and Styria – electrical installation, tree care, cable maintenance – Luibl also offers truck-mounted platforms and trailer-mounted lifts on request. The advantage: no separate low-loader transport, the lift is coupled directly to the work vehicle or mounted on the truck. Details on availability and working heights for this category are available via our contact form.

Emission-Free Access Equipment for Graz Industry and City Centre

Graz industrial businesses, logistics centres and event venues increasingly have internal environmental requirements that restrict combustion engines in indoor areas. The Luibl rental fleet offers a wide range of electric and bi-energy machines explicitly designed for emission-free indoor use:

  • Non-marking tyres on all electric scissor lifts: no scuff marks on industrial floors, epoxy coatings or polished concrete.

  • Bi-energy drive (e.g. Genie GS 3369BE, Niftylift HR12L): combustion engine for outdoor use, purely electric indoors – one machine for both applications.

  • Li-ion technology on HAB high-bay scissor lifts: extended shift duration without recharging, low maintenance requirements.

  • Low ground pressure through distributed unladen weight: particularly relevant for work on underground car park ceilings or upper floors of older Graz industrial buildings, where concrete ceilings have limited point-load capacity.

On request, Luibl provides the manufacturer's diagram with machine-specific ground-pressure values for each machine – as a planning basis for your structural engineer or safety officer.

Express Delivery Across Styria: Punctual Logistics Straight to the Site

Delivery delays on installation sites immediately create idle costs: skilled workers wait, follow-on trades fall behind schedule, daily budgets are exceeded. Luibl operates its own low-loader fleet and delivers aerial work platforms to Graz without third-party logistics.

  • Travel time Passau–Graz: approx. 3 hours – one of the logistical advantages over national platform providers that engage regional subcontractors.

  • Scheduled delivery: the delivery window is coordinated with your site start date; no undefined day-of delivery.

  • Collection at project end: collection by Luibl low-loader directly from the site, condition checked against the handover record.

  • Long-term hire with maintenance: for longer project durations, the annual safety inspection and maintenance intervals can be built into the rental terms.

Legal Requirements and Health & Safety When Hiring a Platform

Aerial work platform operations in Austria are subject to a clear regulatory framework binding on both the hire company and the hirer. Luibl observes these requirements as standard practice throughout the rental process:

AM-VO (Working Equipment Ordinance), Sections 7 and 8: every lift must be inspected by a competent person before first use and after any significant modification. Luibl provides current inspection documentation with every machine and, on request, ensures a documented on-site induction of the operating personnel at handover – evidence for your own operational records.

BauV (Construction Worker Protection Ordinance): when using telescopic and articulated boom lifts on Austrian building sites, the BauV requires the use of fall-arrest PPE in the work basket. Operators must be equipped and instructed accordingly – regardless of whether the machine has integrated safety systems.

ÖNORM EN 280: the European standard for mobile elevating work platforms sets requirements for load-monitoring systems, stability verification and tilt limiters. All machines in the Luibl rental fleet comply with this standard; this is recorded in the handover record.
