Rigid telehandlers for maximum lifting power

Rigid telehandlers offer optimal stability and maximum lifting heights. They are ideal when you need to lift heavy loads over longer distances – for example, in groundworks, material stacking or steel construction. Depending on the model, lifting heights reach up to 39 metres. The oscillating axle (level compensation) allows work on uneven terrain without the load tipping.

All-wheel drive and fold-out outriggers are standard on rough terrain. On Linz construction sites in business parks or riverside redevelopment projects, the ground often bears uneven loads. A rigid telehandler with an oscillating axle ensures full performance here without compromise.

The drawback: the turning circle is larger. In the Linz old town or on cramped industrial sites, this can become a problem.

Rotating telehandlers: 360° flexibility for tight sites

Rotating telehandlers (slewing models) are more manoeuvrable. The 360° platform rotation allows the load to be positioned without moving the machine itself. This saves time and space – crucial on urban sites with limited room. Manufacturers such as Merlo and Magni offer rotators with lifting heights of up to 35 metres and capacities of over 20 tonnes (such as the Manitou MHT 10200).

The drawback: the rotating function requires energy and slightly reduces maximum lifting capacity compared with rigid models – a trade-off that is often worthwhile for your project.

Heavy-duty telehandlers such as the Manitou MHT 10200 or comparable Magni models offer 20 tonnes of capacity at 10.2 metres of reach. Such machines are rare but indispensable for machinery relocations, machine tool installation and heavyweight logistics.

These models require:

• Ground preparation: Load-bearing, level ground. The ground pressure load is considerable. A prior ground survey is advisable.

• Outriggers: Four-point fold-out outriggers (or scissor outriggers) must be set down on stable ground. Loose gravel is unsuitable.

• Wind-load calculation: At maximum reach and height, crosswind can affect stability. This is documented in the load chart.

Pallet forks and heavy-duty forks

A work platform basket allows the telehandler to be used as an aerial work platform – ideal for assembly work at height. The maximum occupancy is limited to 2 people, and the same safety standards apply as for aerial work platforms (anti-climb protection, fall protection). Radio-controlled winch and grab

For lifting operations with ropes or handling irregular loads. The radio-controlled winch is remote-operated and allows precise positioning – for example when erecting steel beams or handling building materials.

For groundworks. The telehandler becomes a small excavator. This is particularly useful on landscaping projects outside the city.
