Which machine suits which task is decided by a few technical parameters: lifting height or digging depth, load capacity, reach, drive type and ground pressure. Hiring telehandlers and heavy-duty forklifts

Telehandlers are the all-purpose machines of construction logistics. They often replace several specialist machines at once – forklift, crane and aerial work platform in one. For set-ups at the Nuremberg trade fair, for steel assembly at the port or for industrial maintenance at the MAN plant, this is a considerable efficiency lever.

What is available in the rental fleet:

• Fixed telehandlers: lifting heights from 6 m to 19 m, reaches up to 14 m. The standard solution for construction logistics, steel construction and hall assembly. Brands: Manitou, Merlo, JCB.

• Rotating telehandlers: 360° superstructure rotation, lifting heights from 16 m to 35 m. With a basket attachment they replace an aerial work platform, with a winch they work as a crane. Popular models: Magni RTH series, Manitou MRT series, Merlo Roto. Brands: Magni, Manitou, Merlo.

• Heavy-duty telehandlers: load capacities up to 20,000 kg (Manitou MHT 10200) for machine relocations and plant construction – relevant at industrial sites such as the MAN plant or Schaeffler's main plant in Herzogenaurach.

• Electric telehandlers: the emission-free variant for food production, the pharmaceutical industry and all indoor applications with emissions requirements.

• Heavy-duty forklifts: load capacities up to 16 t with the appropriate attachment – for heavy-load logistics at the Bavarian Port of Nuremberg, in steel processing and for machine relocations.

All-wheel drive and an oscillating axle are standard in the rough-terrain segment. Models with three steering modes (front axle, all-wheel steering, crab steering) make manoeuvring on tight inner-city construction sites easier.

Aerial work platforms and lifts for assembly and maintenance

Where lifting rather than carrying is required, aerial work platforms take on the work at height. The rental fleet covers working heights up to 58 m and lateral reaches up to 24 m – more than sufficient for most maintenance and assembly deployments in Middle Franconia.

The most important types for the Nuremberg area:

• Electric scissor lifts: emission-free, low-noise, with non-marking tyres – ideal for hall maintenance in the logistics centres of the GVZ Feucht and for exhibition construction at the Nuremberg trade-fair grounds.

• Diesel rough-terrain scissor lifts: working heights up to 34 m, load capacity up to 1,000 kg, gradeability up to 45% – for steel assembly and outdoor work on large construction sites.

• Telescopic and articulated telescopic boom lifts: working heights up to 58 m. The articulation point of the articulated platforms allows reaching over obstacles – often the only practical solution in industrial halls, for bridge maintenance and for façade work in the city centre.

• Truck-mounted platforms: quick relocation between several sites, suitable for tree care, advertising-installation maintenance and roof refurbishment in Gostenhof, St. Johannis or the Lorenz old town.

• High-rack scissor lifts: special machines with 22 m, 28 m and 33 m working height for logistics centres with tall racking systems – for example in Feucht and Eckental.

Forklifts for logistics and industry

At the Bavarian Port of Nuremberg, in the GVZ Feucht and at the region's industrial sites, a smooth flow of goods is decisive. The rental fleet covers all common forklift categories:

Cranes for point lifting work

For point lifting work without a telehandler hybrid solution, the rental fleet offers mobile cranes and mini cranes. Both are used when a telehandler reaches its limits – for example when lifting precisely in confined courtyards of the old town or with very high individual loads in industrial assembly.

A rental machine is only as good as its availability on the day of use. Luibl operates its own low-loader fleet and is therefore independent of external hauliers. The Nuremberg motorway interchange connects four main axes – the A3 (west–east, Frankfurt–Regensburg–Passau), the A6 (east–west, Heilbronn–Amberg), the A9 (north–south, Berlin–Munich) and the A73 (Bamberg–Suhl) – making Nuremberg one of the best-connected logistics hubs in Germany.

Practical example: During a refurbishment in the Lorenz old town, the courtyard access was only 2.8 m wide – a classic mobile crane was out of the question. A rotating telehandler was scheduled from the rental fleet, which passed through the narrow gateway, rotated the superstructure 360 degrees in the courtyard and lifted the loads precisely over the courtyard building into the rear courtyard. One machine thus replaced a mobile crane and an aerial work platform and reduced the logistics effort to a single delivery day.

Inner-city delivery: For deliveries into the city area, we coordinate delivery time windows with the site manager. For a special-use permit – for example for a truck-mounted platform on public ground – we provide the technical data for the application to the City of Nuremberg.

Service during the hire period: Fitters can be deployed on site on request. Repairs are carried out directly on the construction site where possible; if that is not practical, a prompt replacement is provided. For long-term hire over several months, UVV inspection and annual maintenance are included in the terms.
